Emma Pei Ad Campaign for Lane Crawford, Fall 2008/Winter 2009

Lane Crawford, the luxury departmental store in Hong Kong and Beijing, is seeking international recognition by buying ad pages in magazines outside of China and Hong Kong. I remembered seeing the Spring/Summer 2008 ads (featuring Du Juan) in the US last season. The new Fall 2008/Winter 2009 ads featuring Emma Pei are now in the September 2008 issue of (US) W Magazine.

Emma Pei looks like a boy in the left photo and a girl in the right photo below. The stylist and photographer did a great job featuring two totally different looks using the same model. Does anyone know who the photographer is in this ads?

Code Models Management Show Package for Spring 2009

Ji Yeon Lee, who was one of the models on the cover of Korean Vogue in May 2008, just signed with Code Agency and will be making her debut in New York City this week. Ji Yeon has the same parent agency in Korea (DCM) as fellow models, Hyun Yi Lee and Yoon Jin Wook.

Ashley Yao Ad Campaign for L'Oréal Féria, Fall 2008

Ashley Yao is one of those models who makes a decent living without doing runway shows or starring in tons of magazine editorials. She has been doing mostly catalog jobs, which pay really well, thank you very much. A constant in JCrew catalogs, she is also a singer in a band called, Misha.

This is a L'Oréal ad for the Féria Hair Color line. Ad campaigns tend to pay really well because they run in more magazines than a single-print editorial. In addition, the ads can run for months or sometimes, years and those residual incomes do add up over time.

Shitomi Gilson & Shien Lee Editorial for UCE Magazine #2 May/June 2008

The Hong Kong movie, In the Mood for Love has inspired hundreds of fashion shoots. I believe there are at least four other fashion editorials on this theme in this blog alone.

Here is another editorial inspired by In the Mood for Love from a new online fashion/design/culture magazine called UCE Magazine. I have to admit, the quality of the content and photogprahy are quite exceptional for an online magazine. It reads like a real paper magazine without resorting to those childish, splashy, ADD-addled contents/typography that are so prevalent in ditigal media publications today.

Jeanine Chin Editorial for (French) Modzik #4, July/August 2008

Jeanine Chin is a Taiwanese model who is signed with small agencies in Paris (Angels) and Milan (Brave). She has walked for a number of designers in London, Milan and Paris including Martin Margiela and Chloe. Hopefully, we'll see more of her work soon.
